PAISLEY is *extremely* intelligent, and needs active, Heeler-savvy humans who understand working dogs and will challenge her to new things daily. Paisley seeks someone experienced in agility, AKC Trick Dog, and/or dog-dancing. She's a natural. Paisley *ROCKED* a scent-dog evaluation with a seasoned searcher/trainer. This dog is exceptional!! Please share her profile with those who can network her to dog sport enthusiasts!!
Paisley MUST have another active, playful same-size or larger dog in the home to help her flourish in her new routine. Paisley loves to run and she needs a large fenced yard - she LOVES big games of chase with dogs, and she is food-motivated. If you are looking for a dog who'll sit around all day waiting for you to get home, this is NOT the dog for you! IF you are happy, active (hiking and running and thinking up new and inventive games) you'll be her favorite!!!
Paisley requires an adults-only home. She may learn to love young children or teens, but  she is a working dog and young humans have young friends.  In order to succeed, Paisley needs savvy guardians who will kindly and consistently muzzle her for outings. She has definite preferences in people, but once she trusts you, you are in the club and she WILL bond to YOU.
**Due to abuse in her prior home, Paisley has real reservations with new humans of any age and she is very human-selective.** REPEAT: We seek adopters with working dog experience who have an understanding of the Heeler breed. Paisley is not a toy; she is not a dog that will be happy taken to the workplace or living in a home where there is a continual string of guests/visitors.
If you believe you're a possible match for Paisley PLEASE complete an adoption application! In your application, please describe your experience raising and training Aussies/Heelers/working dogs, and any experience you may have with the above-mentioned dog sports! Thank you!

  • "Companion animal" means, needs at least one other friendly, playful dog that lives full-time in the same household.
  • "Fenced yard" means, a backyard that is adjacent to and connected with your residence. (It does not mean a nearby fenced area/dog park.)
  • Gates must have padlocks and thresholds (cement or buried pavers to prevent digging.)
  • Yard and patio must be free of debris and have room for dogs to run and play on a lawn and/or a very shaded area.
  • “Swimming pool” means an in-ground, year-round pool available to the dog daily or multiple times per week.
  • We do not place dogs in situations where there are "drained" or empty swimming pools, which are a fall hazard and contribute to the propogation of mosquitos.
  • Last and not least, we DO NOT adopt to students as we have found that they often do not know or anticipate where life is taking them next.
