Skip is shy but affectionate and he absolutely cannot wait for a young dog playmate who will help him stretch his long legs and have fun! Although young and playful, he is careful not to jump on or be rough with humans. His crazy ears are so endearing, and he is so appreciative of a gentle voice and touch.

Skip will love an active family that enjoys outdoor fun like frisbee and swimming. Still a young pup, he will thrive with kind humans who’ll help him learn new things and grow his confidence. He LOVES snacks and, despite his shyness, really enjoys meeting new people.

Skip has learned that going on the leash means good things will happen; he is working on his leash manners. Skip is uncomfortable with large dogs and prefers polite, friendly players who are 30-35 pounds.

THIS DOG LOVES TO SWIM!!

Added bonus: although he's male, Skip does not usually lift his leg to mark, but instead squats politely. <3

If you believe you're a possible match for Skip, PLEASE complete an adoption application!

**IMPORTANT**

  • "Companion animal" means, needs at least one other friendly, playful dog that lives in the same household.
  • "Fenced yard" means, a backyard that is adjacent to and connected with your residence. (It does not mean a nearby fenced area/dog park.)
  • Gates must have padlocks and thresholds (cement or buried pavers to prevent digging.)
  • Yard and patio must be free of debris and have room for dogs to run and play on a lawn and/or a very shaded area.
  • We do not place dogs in situations where there are "drained" or empty swimming pools, which are a fall hazard and contribute to the propogation of mosquitos.
  • We DO NOT adopt to students as we have found that they often do not know or anticipate where life is taking them next.

Dogs remain posted while we screen potential adopters. As long as dog is designated "Available" we continue to accept applications.

We are staffed by all volunteers and use an application protocol to handle all inquiries about adoptable dogs. This system enables an efficiency that allows us to save and care for more dogs. Discussion about a dog - including scheduling of a home check or other dialogue - cannot occur until we have received your completed adoption applicationNO EXCEPTIONS. Thank you!
