Handsome Alex is a visual treat with his big smile, gorgeous coat, and fluffy flourish of tail. Alex is agile and inquisitive. He is polite, walks well on leash, does not jump up, and plays appropriately with other dogs. His new home should have another friendly, playful dog.
He needs a large, securely fenced backyard and humans who are herding-breed savvy and home most of the day so that he can consistently exercise, explore and play. Alex does not seem interested in toys but he's playful and we believe he might enjoy agility work.
If you believe you're a possible match for Alex PLEASE complete an adoption application!
IF YOU’RE READING THIS ON A PET SEARCH SITE, PLEASE PROCEED TO OUR SITE for our fees/policies/procedures ...  Dogs remain posted while we screen potential adopters. As long as a dog is designated “Available” we continue to accept and review applications. We encourage you to register on our site and "Favorite" the dog(s) that interest you, so that you will be notified when bio or photos are updated.
We’re staffed by all volunteers and use an application protocol to handle all interactions about adoptable dogs. This system enables an efficiency that allows us to save and care for more dogs. Discussion about a dog - including scheduling an interview, home check, or other dialogue, cannot occur until we’ve received your completed adoption applicationNO EXCEPTIONS. Thank you!

  • "Companion animal" means, needs at least one other friendly, playful dog that lives full-time in the same household.
  • "Fenced yard" means, a backyard that is adjacent to and connected with your residence. (It does not mean a nearby fenced area/dog park.)
  • Gates must have padlocks and thresholds (cement or buried pavers to prevent digging.)
  • Yard and patio must be free of debris and have room for dogs to run and play on a lawn and/or a very shaded area.
  • “Swimming pool” means an in-ground, year-round pool available to the dog daily or multiple times per week.
  • We do not place dogs in situations where there are "drained" or empty swimming pools, which are a fall hazard and contribute to the propogation of mosquitos.
  • Last and not least, we DO NOT adopt to students as we have found that they often do not know or anticipate where life is taking them next.
