IF YOU’RE VIEWING THIS VIA A PET SEARCH SITE, WE’RE STILL ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR JACK. PLEASE visit our website BetterDaysRescue.org to read our policies as well as Jack's requirements/detailed profile.
**
Jack will be placed in the Phoenix metro area, for proximity to our rescue (home checks, follow up visits, visit to finalize adoption) and for access to our veterinarian. Sorry, no exceptions.
**
Adoption begins with a Foster-To-Adopt arrangement that continues until Basic and Intermediate Obedience training are completed. Once training is complete, adoption can be finalized.
**
Jack is just over a year old and a bit shy. He begins every new relationship by sizing you up to see if you will be a friend! When he realizes that you are fun, and can provide snacks and throw the ball (and will laugh at him!) he warms up.

Jack really misses his sister Cinnamon and his brother, Brucie. He must have at least one happy, friendly, similar-size dog friend in his new home. (Preference will be given to applicants with at least one active, healthy medium-large size dog.) Jack came from a situation of far too many dogs and not enough resources or attention. Our volunteers have worked with Jack to help him adjust to individual attention. He is learning to not only accept but enjoy it, and he takes treats so gently!

Jack needs adult humans who are home most of the time. He also requires a private, fenced yard as he’s from a very rural area where he enjoyed lots of off-leash play. Apartment life would not be appropriate for him as he is most comfortable when he’s well-acquainted with the humans that share his space. We think he would enjoy older teen children, but he’s unaccustomed to young kids and their friends.

If you believe you're a possible match for Jack, please complete our online adoption application!

We encourage you to register on our site and "Favorite" the dog(s) that interest you, so that you will be notified when bio, photos, or status are updated.
  • "Companion animal" means, needs at least one other friendly, playful dog that lives full-time in the same household.
  • "Fenced yard" means, a backyard that is adjacent to and connected with your residence. (It does not mean a nearby fenced area/dog park.)
  • Gates must have padlocks and thresholds (cement or buried pavers to prevent digging.)
  • Yard and patio must be free of debris and have room for dogs to run and play *on a lawn and/or in a very shaded area.* Please do not invite us to your home if you have not yet landscaped your yard!
  • “Swimming pool” means a private, in-ground, year-round pool that is available to the dog daily or multiple times per week.
  • We do not place dogs in situations where there are "drained" or empty swimming pools, which are a fall hazard and contribute to the propogation of mosquitos.
  • Last and not least, we DO NOT adopt to students as we have found that they often do not know or anticipate where life will take them.

Discussion about a dog - including scheduling of a home check or other dialogue - cannot occur until we have received your completed adoption application. NO EXCEPTIONS. Thank you!
