Our puppies are placed in the Phoenix metro area,
for proximity to our rescue (home checks, follow up visits, visit to finalize adoption)
and for access to our veterinarian. Sorry, no exceptions.
Adoption begins with a Foster-To-Adopt arrangement that continues until
1) the puppy is old enough to be spayed/neutered and
2) until Puppy Kindergarten and Canine Good Citizen training are completed.
Adoption can then be finalized.
Newman has just joined us, so we’ll be adding details, photos, video to his profile soon. Newman is slightly larger than his brother, Redford. Both puppies were pretty scared at the busy shelter and are now settling into rehabilitative care.
Newman and Redford are overly reliant on each other’s company so they will be placed in separate homes where their new families are prepared to commence puppy training within a week or so after puppy's arrival.
Each new family must already have at least one friendly, playful, well-adjusted large-breed dog. A fenced, private backyard is imperative, as is an adult at home most of the time. No children under the age of eight years, please.
If you believe you're a possible match for Newman or Redford, please complete an adoption application! Please include information regarding your experience with Retrievers, and also with raising and training a puppy.
Our fees and policies are on our home page at We encourage you to register on our site and "Favorite" the dog(s) that interest you, so that you will be notified when bio or photos are updated.
  • "Fenced yard" means, a backyard that is adjacent to and connected with your residence. (It does not mean a nearby fenced area/dog park.)
  • "Companion animal" means, needs at least one other friendly dog that lives in the same household.
  • We DO NOT adopt to students or young adults as we have found that they often do not know or anticipate where life is taking them next.

Dogs remain posted while we screen potential adopters. As long as dog is designated "Available" we continue to accept applications.

We are staffed by all volunteers and use an application protocol to handle all inquiries about adoptable dogs. This system enables an efficiency that allows us to save and care for more dogs. Discussion about a dog - including scheduling of a home check or other dialogue - cannot occur until we have received your completed adoption applicationNO EXCEPTIONS. Thank you!
