Scarlett is the Princess Grace of German Shepherds. She is serene and gorgeous and nothing seems to ruffle her. However, she is still very much a puppy and requires significant exercise and training. Scarlett needs lots of activity in the form of playing and walks and brain-work.

Scarlett’s new family must be committed to working-dog training for her, so she can learn to properly socialize with other dogs. Shecan learn to interact consistently well with a well-adjusted ADULT dog in the household, but the months of her life B.R. (before rescue) were clearly not spent learning how to "dog" and expect good things from new dog friends.

An adult who is home most of the time is a must for Scarlett; children must be 12 or older.

If you believe you're a possible match for Scarlett, please complete an adoption application! Please include information regarding your experience raising and training German Shepherds.

**We are serious about these requirements and hope that you will re-read them carefully before applying to meet Scarlett.**

We encourage you to register on our site and "Favorite" the dog(s) that interest you, so that you will be notified when bio, photos, or status are updated.
  • "Fenced yard" means, a backyard that is adjacent to and connected with your residence. (It does not mean a nearby fenced area/dog park.)
  • Gates must have padlocks and thresholds (cement or buried pavers to prevent digging.)
  • Yard and patio must be free of debris and have room for dogs to run and play *on a lawn and/or in a very shaded area.* Please do not invite us to your home if you have not yet landscaped your yard!
  • We do not place dogs in situations where there are "drained" or empty swimming pools, which are a fall hazard and contribute to the propogation of mosquitos.
  • Last and not least, we DO NOT adopt to students as we have found that they often do not know or anticipate where life will take them.

Discussion about a dog - including scheduling of a home check or other dialogue - cannot occur until we have received your completed adoption application. NO EXCEPTIONS. Thank you!
