Fun Over Flop-Downs

Sep 7, 2025

‍CONDITION: GOOD, almost GOOD+

‍RESPIRATIONS: Tachypnea has improved since last week, as when he has the“flop-downs” during his walk, he is able to breathe out of his nose. Lip-flewing is not noticeable; panting less but with drool.  Photo and video are from flop-down on his walk: resting and nose-breathing.

‍GAIT: No evidence of hump back and no nail dragging. A cute little wiggle, not a bunny hop!

‍ACTIVITY: Henry has been sleeping often, except at night in his room, when the “wilder-beasts” visit! Paw prints on the display table! Petals from the flower arrangement strewn about! Keyboard gnawed, mouse chewed, the tower of clean towels and blankets toppled…. This can only be the work of wilder-beasts!

‍Bowel and Bladder: Diarrhea or loose stools has resolved since switching to homemade. (Of course it has!)

‍PLAN: Henry’s rear limb shaking has abated, and enforced rest is not good for him. So, we shall resume outdoor activities and fun with dog friends!

‍COMMENTS: I hate this for Henry. When I see him sleeping away the day, I don’t feel fortunate to have a calm two-year-old puppy. Instead, I realize how unfair this is to him.

‍Henry is so happy when he sees other people and other dogs, and he is so excited for his walks. We will never know what Henry thinks about his lot in life, but his actions are loving, friendly, and fun. I receive so much affection from him, and he always makes me laugh!
