The House of Henry

Jul 7, 2025

‍Two months with Henry has flown by! Henry’s progress has slowed but that is to be expected. The most important part is to reassess.

‍Welcome to the House of Henry!

‍OVERALL CONDITION: GOOD  (previously Very Good)

‍BODY HABITUS: Very lean, bones palpable. Excellent form.

‍BODY CONDITION: 2/5

‍EYES: Left eye sclera injection minimal with medial canthus exudate (eye boogers) minimal.

‍RESPIRATIONS: Flew puffing (lip), tachypnea.

‍HEART: Pounding, though not constantly.

‍Henry is bright, active, and alert. He remains excited, interested and affectionate, and always stays near. His limbs are still 0/4, he has a loping gait, and a bit of bunny hop is evident. He is offered kibble topped with wet food twice daily. He enjoys My Perfect Pet Roxy’s Lamb and Beef Blend and eats heartily but not completely. Supplements continue.

‍Henry appears well and is engaged. Adding more calories has been difficult as he does not eat fully. He has had two visitors this week. Hope, a BDR dog who convalesced here months ago is well known to me, but she has never met Henry. Hope silently slips her body between Henry and me, herding him away. She has been committed to this. Henry is Gandhi in this instance and —  as I’ve observed in other situations — he slinks away.

‍My thought is to wait it out and see how he responds without fear factor. He had been started on CBD, maybe I should try it, ya know: research! Vitamin D3 has not been started due to these changes. Vitamin B1 Thiamine has been doubled.  (originally this addition showed his early excellent results.  1= 250 mg 2=500mg.

‍Looking forward to: B1 nutrients for energy conversion, B6 neurotransmission, B3 DNA repair. Will try to source a B complex with B1, B3, B6, B12. Also, PEA 400 (w turmeric) trial, Rapamycin, Vet visit.

‍Henry is perfect!
